This is a temporary visa that allows a New Zealand citizen to remain and work in Australia. This visa is usually granted upon arrival in Australia and will be in effect as long as the holder remains in Australia.
Eligibility
To be eligible, the applicant must satisfy the following criteria:
- Must be a New Zealand citizen.
- Must have a valid New Zealand passport.
- Meet health and character requirements.
Since the visa expires by the time the holder departs Australia, a fresh application must be submitted each time the New Zealand citizen returns to the country. This visa leads to permanent residency through the Skilled Independent (Subclass 189) (New Zealand) Stream.
