The latest data highlights significant activities across various visa subclasses, particularly the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190), the Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) State and Territory Nominated, the Business Innovation and Investment (provisional) visa (subclass 188), and notably, the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189). While there have been no nominations for the Business Innovation and Investment visa, sparking speculation about its future, the Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) stands out for its direct path to permanent residency for skilled workers without requiring state or territory nomination.

Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)

This visa remains a popular pathway for skilled workers seeking permanent residency, with Victoria leading the nominations at 1,976 places, followed by Western Australia (1,356) and New South Wales (992). The Australian Capital Territory, while smaller, also showed strong activity with 476 nominations. This distribution highlights the varied economic needs and strategic focuses of each State and Territory.

 

Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 491)

Designed to promote regional development, the subclass 491 visa sees a different pattern of nominations. New South Wales and the Northern Territory lead with 978 and 293 nominations, respectively, underscoring their commitment to regional growth. Queensland and South Australia also show considerable activity, highlighting the attractiveness of regional areas for skilled migrants.
